 SCHOOL MEALS

The Government announced that all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will be eligible for Free School Meals from the 3rd September 2014.

School Meals

Children have the choice of taking a dinner cooked on the premises, a school sandwich lunch or bringing a packed lunch from home. There are always two main meal choices, including one vegetarian and a choice of desserts. The school operates a flight tray system where children queue up and are served their lunches on flight trays; they then sit down in a suitable place and eat their lunch before going out to play.

Lunch menus are available from school and are sent out to parents each term, a copy is shown below.

Children are also free to go home for their midday break.

Please encourage your child to try out our school meals, they are of excellent quality! Our meals are provided by Food With Thought and our school was highlighted by Defra for using locally sourced healthy ingredients.

We would be pleased to answer any questions on school meals, don't hesitate to ask!

Paying for a number of lunches in advance saves considerable time in the school office!
May we remind you that all milk and meals must be paid for in advance.

Please make your cheques payable to South Moreton School.  We should be grateful if you could put all payments in an envelope with your child’s full name, their class and a description of what the money is for, written on the outside.

Online payments are accepted for School Meals and Out of Hours Care. If you would like to participate, please contact Karen Burrowes by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for further information.

Any dinners that you are in credit for at the end of this term will be carried forward where possible to next term and an explanation sent home with your child.

Fruit is provided to Key Stage 1 children under the National Scheme.
